Acoustic design for two extension projects at Abbey School including planning application support.
Detailed acoustic design guidance was provided to O&D Construction for two extension schemes at the Abbey School, Farnham (a special educational needs school). The extension works included a number of new classroom areas, sports hall and new air source heat pump (ASHP) equipment to reduce the scheme’s carbon footprint.
Works included internal acoustic design advice relating to sound insulation, the control of noise intrusion and reverberation control. The control of noise from the ASHPs was also of paramount importance and Suono worked with the local authority to development a suitable noise control solution to ensure that noise to nearby residents was suitably controlled.
